We’re a Dunedin based wedding and furniture hire company that is proud to be offering a new style of furniture hire in the Otago and Southland region. Our growing collection stems from a love of classic design and includes handmade wooden trestle tables, a mix of modern and vintage chairs and a range of props with big life stories to tell.
We know it’s frustrating not to find the style of furniture that you want for your event. Our philosophy is simple, to provide you with classic, contemporary hire options and beautiful pieces that won’t disappoint.
Our range is built around vintage and classic design but we also ensure our growing collection is kept modern with contemporary additions that fit our Southern environment. Hiring classic has lots of benefits. Vintage pieces hold their appeal because they’re hard wearing, built to last and functional. Vintage pieces are also unique. It is unlikely that you are ever going to hire the same pieces of furniture from another organisation because each piece is beautifully original.
Vintage furniture was built at a time when resources were scarce – each piece was designed to be long lasting, functional and fuss-free. Because of this minimalist styling and durability, vintage pieces are still as relevant today as they were when they were built. Vintage fits easily in to any contemporary situation without looking outdated.
Meet the team:
After a search that spanned most of the lower South Island, Swell Event Hire came about from not being able to find wooden trestles for our own wedding. With our wedding day approaching my (now) very handy husband crafted a beautiful set of ten wooden trestle tables. Fast forward two years and we have increased our table numbers and added some beautiful extras.
We make the process of hiring furniture as seamless and as easy as possible. From your first initial contact email or phone call through to when we deliver your furniture and hug you good luck we’ll work closely alongside you.
