What information do you need for a quote?
To provide you with an accurate quote we need to know the number of guests, venue, furniture you would like and number of days you require our furniture.
How long is my quote valid for?
Your quote is valid for two weeks. Your booking is confirmed upon acceptance of quote and payment of deposit invoice.  The deposit invoice will be 25% of the total hire cost.  You are able to amend your booking up to two weeks prior to your event however furniture requirements cannot decrease by more than 10% of the original booking.  The deposit is non-refundable and is used to secure your booking and date.  The balance of your hire is payable in full one month before your event date.

Each of our items are unique and hand selected for our collection. Due to the unique and special nature of our hire items we require a damage/cleaning bond which is based on the value of the overall hire.  Refunded bonds are paid back within 5 business days of the return of your hire items.

What is your hire period?
Our hire period is for a three day period unless prior agreement has been made and mutually agreed to by Swell Event Hire and yourself.

If you require items for a longer period please ask about our extended rates.

Do you have a minimum hire?
Due to demand we have a minimum hire in peak season (December – April). Please contact us to discuss more.
Do you set up?
We include delivery and set up/pack down in our quotes.  We recommend not trying to set furniture up by yourselves.  Depending on your layout, this can take us to up 2 hours (and we’re sure you’ve got other things that you can be doing with this time!)  The fee doesn’t include styling your event.  Please talk to us about our styling services. We will liaise with your venue to gain access.
What is the delivery fee and can I pick up?
Our delivery fee is calculated from the distance travelled from our storage base, the number of staff required and size of order.  Swell Hire is located in Dunedin and services all townships within the Otago/Southland region.  Even though we’re in Dunedin we do love a good roadie and are happy to deliver anywhere in the South Island.  When delivery is outside of the Otago/Southland region there will be a higher delivery fee to cover the costs of transport, accommodation and expenses while we’re on the road.

Feel free to contact us with your venue and we’ll give you an accurate quote. Unfortunately we don’t offer pick-ups on furniture.
